ABOUT US

Our Story

Frameworking the Bible is a curriculum that was first conceived and developed over 20 years ago by Ken Flowers, a gifted teacher whose mission was to help students understand how to frame the information in the Bible chronologically.  Ken saw the need for students to be able to understand how the people, places, and events of the Bible were a part of the complete story in God’s Word and how they fit within a historical context. Along with the curriculum, Ken developed a Bible Timeline that was an important visual tool in helping give students the ability to place Biblical people and events in a chronological order.

Frameworking the Bible curriculum and Timeline are unique in that they were created to be used together in teaching students the Bible. It was Ken’s belief that kids retain information better when given a visual tool to help them understand lessons that are taught. The Bible timeline serves as the core of the curriculum.

Ken retired from teaching after 20 plus years having impacted hundreds of young people who to this day attribute their Bible knowledge to Ken and Frameworking the Bible. As teachers who used Frameworking the Bible years ago and witnessed the success of the curriculum and timeline, we felt a personal calling by God to revise and update the curriculum.  While revising the curriculum our team has preserved the original intent of the curriculum, which is to provide an accurate and simple understanding of the Bible for teachers and students.

Our Team

Joanie Aderholt – Joanie has a background in education and has always had a passion for teaching children.  She has been involved in Sunday School in her home church for over 20 years teaching first grade, preteens, and currently teaches an adult special needs class.  Joanie was involved in helping Ken develop Frameworking the Bible. When Ken retired, Joanie took over the task of perfecting the curriculum.  Joanie has led the team to continue Ken’s dream of developing a curriculum that is effective in teaching the chronological order of the Bible. Joanie is a gifted storyteller and has led many Teacher Training Classes on how to be an effective teacher and storyteller.  Joanie has been on many international mission trips and has used Frameworking the Bible curriculum and Timeline to share the Gospel with people around the world.

Dodie Ellis – Dodie has a background in business, teaching, and writing.  She has been teaching fourth grade Sunday School in her home church for over 20 years.  She is a substitute teacher and has been tutoring students for over 10 years.  She has a passion for teaching kids and seeing them acquire knowledge and understanding of a subject. She challenges her fourth-grade Sunday School students to memorize many parts of the Bible.  Even though teaching is her love, Dodie’s passion is writing. She loves making a simple Bible story come to life using factual and thought-provoking information that engages the readers. Dodie helped Ken write lessons for the original curriculum years ago and has continued to write lessons for the revisions.  She has written devotionals for children as well as helping write curriculum to be used in Africa, where she was part of a team that led a conference on how to teach children the Bible.

Katie Ellis – Katie has degrees in Communication and English. She has been involved in art for more than 20 years; taking art lessons, teaching art, and painting portraits.  Katie contributed to the artistic design of the timeline, and the curriculum. Her designs have helped create a unique, understandable, and appealing curriculum and timeline.  Katie was a student of Ken Flowers and attributes her Bible knowledge and ancient world history knowledge to Frameworking the Bible curriculum and timelines she studied as a youth. The teaching cycle comes full circle as Katie is now investing time into the curriculum that helped grow her faith. Katie volunteers in the children’s ministry at her current church and has been on mission trips where she enjoyed sharing Jesus with children.
